Bill Talks N.C. Wyeth CLIP

From Plymptoons.

On the rare occasion that Bill isn’t animating, he loves to talk about art. When making his list of artists who inspire him to analyze their work, N.C. Wyeth was the top candidate.

In this lesson, he dives deep into the shapes, colors, and compositions that draw the eye to a specific focal point of each painting within his book of N.C. Wyeth’s creations. These techniques are pivotal to not only drawing the attention of the viewer, but keeping them curious to continue looking.

Bill may be the King of the Indie Animation, but everyone has to start somewhere. One of the most important lessons for a beginner artist to learn is what inspires them and who, then grow and develop their skills from there. Comment down below to tell us who inspires you! Is it Mr. Plympton??

If you’re interested in learning from him directly, he will be returning to teaching Bill Plympton’s School of Animation next month(March), in-person, at his studio in Chelsea NYC!
