Abandoned as a baby and forced to survive on the streets, Mroona learns the hard way that the world isn’t kind to outsiders. Just when she’s about to give up, she meets Wyrum—another misfit with nowhere to belong. Together, they scrape by, dreaming of a better life, until a mysterious benefactor named Black offers them everything they’ve ever wanted: food, shelter, and a home. But as the years pass, Mroona starts to sense that Black’s kindness comes with a dark price. When she finally uncovers the horrifying truth, she realizes that escaping the streets was only the beginning of the fight for her life.
