One year after the events of "Nothing Unusual," Asumi has been having nights where she struggles to focus or get any sleep. When she does manage to sleep, she hallucinates about her mother, Khayme Mayako. Meanwhile, a new Yokai is roaming the fields of Tokyo: the Dorotabo. This humanoid demon is made of mud and waste. The Dorotabo seeks revenge on those who failed to tend their farms and turned them into mangled scarecrows. Now, a tired and worn-out Asumi must face her powerful new enemy, but it turns out the Dorotabo knows a lot about her and her father, Unobo. Will Asumi uncover the truth about her father, or will she let her trauma and feelings of failure consume her?
