Rick and Morty Season 9 just wrapped up, and it was actually good! Rick and Morty Season 9 premiered without a ton of fanfare at first, and for good reason. It’s generally been accepted that the show had a pretty steep decline. The show was getting progressively unfunnier, obnoxiously meta, and generally feeling like it was made out of contempt for its audience. It was in this paradoxical state where it didn’t want to be serialised or tell any sort of ongoing story, but because they had already done that in prior seasons there was this begrudging obligation to keep the story going every so often. But Season 9, and debatably the past two seasons, have kinda fixed that. So what happened?
